Huuuge game on Saturday, massive! All to play for really, pride, bragging rights, Maverick thumbs up and the chance to drink beer out of the trophy. There has been some entertaining rugby played this year and both WP and the Sharks deserve to be in the finals. Two weeks ago we got to enjoy to very different styles of rugby, partly due to the weather, partly due to the opposition and partly due to a fear of bees. The Sharks played an All Black style of rugby in the first half to get the jump on a very Springbok looking Bulls side and then hung on with some passionate defence to clinch a thriller. Young Patrick Lambie and man-giant Willem Alberts played exceptionally well, which we at the Bowl predicted with freakish accuracy. Can Western Province finally live up to expectations and make the Currie Cup final next week? Will the Cheetahs once again prove that they have mastered the art of upsetting more fancied opponents? Yesterday it was revealed by the Times that Andre Nel, former Proteas fast (mostly medium paced) bowler had been having an affair with 34-year-old Londoner Jelena Kultiasova. When approached for comment Nel seemed honestly shocked and denied any wrongdoing. “This story is quite invalid.
